August 05 webJanuary 11 My look at lifeI look at life as if it were a sea voyage, the first part of this voyage is when we are born and our schooldays,a time when everything is smooth and plain sailing and free from the stresses of responsibility,but then we hit part 2 ,our working life starts and we are sailing into stormy waters,we are confronted with responsibility for ourselves and others,we manage to ride out the storm and get to part 3 ,the age of marriage and family when we are overjoyed by the bringing in of new life and we watch them grow and mature with pride in ourselves,our sea is calm and flat and serene,but on the horizon looms part 4,the other side of the storm,this is when our young children become young men and women and we are worried about who they mix with,where they are, and what they are doing,we feel responsible because we gave them the directions and instructions for life,we analyze every instruction and advice we gave to them,if they get it wrong we are the ones who will be held responsible, but again we manage to ride out this storm and sail into part 5,the smooth,calm and pleasant waters of our later life,when we can relax and watch our offspring become good people and hopefully caring people,we have sailed our ship and come through the storm and in the distance is our final destination,but we dont want to rush to our final resting place,we should sit down with a cup of hot tea and some of our favourite biscuits and just enjoy the rest of our voyage. |
